Hulu to Bring a Far Cry TV Show from the Producers of Alien: Earth and the Comedy Hit.

The newest Far Cry game that players experienced was Far Cry 6, that starred Giancarlo Esposito in the role of the bad guy, Antón, and came out back in October 6, 2021. In the game universe, it is known for delighting in violence and madness with similar excitement, all while telling captivating, ideologically themed stories. Little surprise that the network’s recent announcement for a Far Cry anthology series attracted two creators whose projects have represented all of those qualities.

Show Details

Adapted from Ubisoft's hit video game series, the self-contained anthology series will be available on Hulu and be produced by FX Productions. The series will also follow the video games' format by featuring a different setting and ensemble in every instalment.

Executive Team

Rob Mac, mastermind of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Noah Hawley, the talent behind FX's Alien: Earth and Fargo, will act as showrunners on the series through their production banners, More Better Productions for Mac, and 26 Keys for Hawley. They will be accompanied by Emilia Serrano for 26 Keys, Nick Frenkel for 3 Arts, Jackie Cohn for More Better Productions, John Campisi, Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill for Ubisoft Film & Television.

We’ve shared excellent collaborations with Rob Mac and Noah Hawley for a total six series and 32 seasons of television, and we couldn’t be more excited that they are working together for Far Cry,” stated Nick Grad, President, FX Entertainment, in a announcement. “I have no doubt that they will present this story in a way that is original, gripping, and incredibly entertaining. We also want to acknowledge our associates at Ubisoft for entrusting us with this cherished property.”

What’s Next

Mac will also feature in the show, but at the time of writing, we do not know what part that may be. Hawley's Alien: Earth was just renewed for a second instalment, with FX and Disney signing a new long-term contract with the producer.

“Being able to collaborate alongside Noah Hawley is a goal achieved,” said Rob Mac. “Ubisoft has been remarkably accommodating, trusting us with one of the most renowned video-game universes ever created. And along the way, my FX partners constantly supports me with their ongoing belief and backing.”

“What I love about the Far Cry game collection is that it’s an standalone show. Every title is a interpretation of a idea, the same way every run of Fargo is a adaptation on a theme,” said Hawley. “To develop a epic action show that can evolve from season to season, while always delving into the essence of humanity through this intricate and unpredictable viewpoint, is a dream come true. I’m thrilled to collaborate with Rob and introduce our common irreverent, ambitious style to the screen.”

A release window for when we can expect the new Far Cry show has remains undisclosed. The series will premiere on Hulu in the United States and on Disney Plus in other regions.
