Barcelona to Host Inaugural Fixture at Renovated Camp Nou on Saturday

The club confirmed they will play at the still-under-construction Camp Nou over the weekend. They will welcome Athletic Bilbao in La Liga over two years since relocating so building work could begin.

“We envisioned this comeback. The moment has arrived. Home again at Spotify Camp Nou.”

The stadium will not be at full capacity though over 45,000 attendees will be allowed to watch based on approved permits. Once fully finished, it will accommodate almost 105,000 spectators, increasing from the former 99,000. The club said recent additions comprise an updated entryway for the team and new dressing rooms.

Stadium Testing

Barcelona held a fan-accessible workout inside the stadium on 7 November. Officials stated approval is being pursued from European football’s governing body for their upcoming Champions League fixture facing Eintracht next month in the renovated venue. They have been hosting matches in the temporary ground.
